Toking mannerisms

93 Throughout my years as a cannabis consumer, I have noticed certain traits exhibited among fellow smokers that can be considered not only disrespectful, but inefficient to the session as well. Anyway, a list of my pet peeves, feel free to add. 1. Cashing a pipe before it is finished. Surprisingly common, if you are blowing or knocking out a bowl, and an orange cherry comes flying out, you just wasted quality herb! I can understand how some people might not like the end of a pipe, but is it too difficult to ask if anyone else wants to finish it? It's quite easy to suck lightly so that no ash is inhaled. I've even noticed people dump 1/2 a pipe out because they did'nt want to continue smoking, but were too insecure with themselves to admit they wanted to stop. 2. Torching. It's entirely possible to get at least 4 green hits out of a pipe or bong, and everyone is entitled to such. Cornering is a practice long forgotten. To make the most out of a pipe, as little marijuana is to be lit as possible. Light a bit, suck, and watch the lit bud slowly expand and then dissipate at the release of the carb. Enjoy the hit. A great thing about a pipe is that the session can last a long time as a properly smoked pipe goes out after each hit(or within 5 sec). 3. Liping. Well, this is an obvious one. Far more devastating to a j or l. 4.Lighting the mouth end of a pipe. Some people do this every time it comes to them even when the mouthpiece is dry. Quite rude in my opinion. Even if it is a bit wet, is it all too hard to lightly dab the end on a piece of clothing? 5.Biting off more than can be chewed with a bong. Some people never learn. Not only will they absolutely torch a bong, but then draw so much smoke that the chamber is filled when it gets to the next person. Compensate for the chilled smoke! 6.Knocking out a glass bowl on a hard surface. There is no amount of ash that cannot be extracted from a pipe by simply tapping against a hand or using a key or something. These things are fragile! Have respect for others' property. 7. Soaking a blunt in slobber to roll. Self explanatory. Okay, I've probably others I cant think of at the moment, but these are my biggest pet peeves. A simple vent, I do'nt even smoke that much anymore. 93 93/93

I know FAR too many people who are guilty of this one!

word. We used to have a 6 footer and people would fill the entire thing up with smoke. Not many people could clear 6 feet of thick smoke. I am a proud champion though
I hate when a n00b laughs or some shit and blows the weed out of the bowl all over the floor...

I definitely agree with you there. I especially have a problem with people torching my bowls. Especially since I consider it polite to give my friend first hit. Yeah, he returns the favor sometimes, but when he starts off my bowl, every trichome on the surface is charred after the first hit. I corner my bowls even when alone, it's just a habit. A good one.
I also hate it when people don't tell me the bowl's cashed. It's disgusting.

Thats weird. Im guessing you're in the US yeah?
We smoke very differently. We finely chop our weed, and add tobacco (which im against but most of the time i have no choice). Anyway, once that is done we pack our cone, and we rip the whole thing. None of this puffing stuff. We hold the lighter on until its glowing orange, and then suck the whole cone through so the conepiece is completely empty.
Sounds quite odd to me that you puff on a bong 4-5 times or whatever. Isn't that what a pipe is for?
Just thought i'd throw in my 2c.
I do agree with you and how annoying it is when people pack a cone they cant pull. Quite annoying because that does waste weed.

it took me about five years to learn how to smoke. there is definitely a learning curve. a lot of it has to do with being aware of your lungs and gaining better control. and then there is common sense, which accounts for most if not all of your pet peeves. like glass bowl + hard surface = DON'T DO IT ..have these people heard of hands? those soft things on the ends of each arm... they come equipped with a cushy palm, perfect for ashing. cripes.
and a special salute to all the folks who go the extra mile and suck wayward smoke out of the air after initial puffing

ya cant really roll a blunt with only one lick. what do you consider slobbering?
5 licks? 10?
i place my swisher roll (if moist) at around 7 licks.

Exactly. Although if it is too wet, it can tear when your finishing rolling it or whatever.
Apart from that, it doesn't take long to dry so its not a big issue.

A couple of my friends took a split cork and stuck it on their ashtray.

I agree with all but your last 2. I don't drench it in slobber as you say, but I do use some spit to roll my blunts. How the fuck else you do purpose doing it? No offence =p And to the glass pipe thing. I'm a glassblower, and if a pipe is well made no ammount of tapping is going to cuz damage. I bang my peice on the corner of my wood desk all the time.
