Hello, and thanks for checking out my LC jar tek.
This design is not entirely my own, but more a collection of other ideas put in to a easy to sterilize, inoculate, store, and view LC jar.
Materials:

1. Tyvek Envelope 2. Small hole punch. 3. 250 ML Ball canning jar w/ lid. 4. Vanilla sweetened Karo syrup. 5. High temp gasket silicone.
Using your hole punch, puncture one very tiny hole at one end of the lid, and a pencil size hole on the opposite side.
I find it easiest to place the lid plate on top of the jar without the ring.

Trace and cut a lid sized circle out of your tyvek, also marking and cutting a small hole to match the pencil size hole in the lid.
Next, Trace a small line of silicone around the pencil sized hole, and the outer rim of the lid.
As such,

Now, smooth your tyvek circle over the lid plate, matching up the two pencil sized holes.

The small hole on the other side of the lid is just to make it possible to draw liquid out, while still being filtered.
Now place small globs of silicone over both sides of your matched holes.

Now place back on your jar and let cure for at least 24 hours.
Once cured, you can either fill 3/4 full of distilled water, and a half teaspoon of karo syrup, and PC for twenty minutes at 15 psi.
Then the jar is injected with multispore or live mycelium to continue to grow, and be used to inoculate new jars.

Or you can fill 1/4 full of properly prepared grain of your choice.
This method will allow you to make a LC syringe by injecting with distilled water, Shaking rapidly, and drawing the LC water back out into your syringe.

After allowing the grain to dry out, it can be refrigerated, and stored for a very long time. Then re-hydrated, and regrown again and again.
Hope this helps someone out. Keep the new ideas coming!

I just wanted to add, that the grain culture jar can be used to directly inoculate bulk spawn because you can inject distilled water into it.
This usually will not work for normal LC because the karo or honey water used to grow the mycelium will spawn contams once it hits the bulk.
With distilled water and mycelium only you have about as much chance contaming bulk using your culture as you would spawning with grain. Just a thought, and I will post some pics of this in action this week. I have only tried on very small bulk containers, but it worked wonderfully.
