i think this quote tops anything ive seen in a long time
-------------------- "I'm guessing the 'ancient lost drug' of india is psychedelic mushrooms. The correlation between sacred cows (in hinduism) and magic mushrooms growing on cow dung is too strong to ignore, if you ask me."

Unfortunately, the results are not repeatable.

I like how Camus said that the most important philosophical question was whether or not one should commit suicide, and that it must be answered before anything else was relevant. Why should we continue living? Why not just end it?

"The point is to keep them from dying for as long as you can."
"Yeah, but what's the point, since they all have to die anyway?"
"The trick is not to think about that."
"Never mind the trick. What the hell's the point?"
Dunbar pondered in silence for a few moments. "Who the hell knows?"

Once when I was young I was tripping so hard I could see the "other side" and my life situation sucked so bad I wanted to kill myself, but I could plainly see how I would just have to come back and deal with the same situation from the beginning, so I worked through it.
I'm glad I stuck around, my life has turned out to be pretty awesome.

I like the saying in Hook by Peter Banning (Pan), "To die would be a grand adventure".

There's no general answer as the circumstances differ vastly.
Just because life sucks (and one has no biig disease) is the worst cause to commit suicide. Because then, I have to say, it's better to die in an attempt to 'better' it, by changing that. Easy logic which saved me once.

I'm glad you stayed around for sure but I must ask how you could "plainly see" you would have to come back?

I compare life to building a boat and death as entering a vast sea of the unknown with your boat. The longer you take to build your boat, the more apt to sail the more treacherous waters of the sea. If you enter the waters in a dingy with no sail, what fun is that going to be?

Those, who are not involved in the 'betterment'. I mean, if one dies within the attempt (and doing) of the change toward the 'betterment', many more individuals, which are caught in the same 'evil' will have an affect by this deed
edit:damned, I see what a slippery slope that is edit2: Huh, I just did wanna say, there are very vew reasons to commit suicide at all

in the long run, of course not. everything dies/fades in the long run. but it seems we are stuck thinking in the close-future which we often forget is not actually now
