I went to a local grocery store tonight. Here are the prices of the mushrooms they had:
Fresh Chantarelle - $49.99/lb Woodear - $17.99/lb Enoki - $13.67/lb Shitake - $7.99/lb Oyster - $5.99/lb Portobella - $3.99/lb Crimini - $2.99/lb Button - $2.99/lb
Dried Morel - $5.99/.5oz = $191.68/lb Chantarelle - $3.99/.5oz = $127.68/lb Portobella - $3.49/.5oz = $111.68/lb Porcini - $2.99/.5oz = $95.68/lb Shitake - $2.49/.5oz = $79.68/lb Oyster - $2.49/.5oz = $79.68/lb Woodear - $1.99/.5oz = $63.68/lb
They also had black & white Italian truffles for something like $699.99/lb, but I doubt any of us will be growing those any time soon. ;-)

WoW! You are lucky. Around here, I can pick up button, crimini and portobello for $3 a pound. Exotics, such as Oyster and Shiitake are $15 a pound. Enoki's are not always available and go for the same price.

Most of that isn't available, at least not in one shop...might find something when you really shop around a bit, but it'd take some time...

The Reeshi and Matsutake are the two most expensive mushrooms, morels are alo expensive, In 1974 * use to get $17,.00 a pound for chantrlles.
Now two to three follars a pound. In Oregon and Washington you no w need liscenses ro sell shrooms to markket places.

Don't forget Matsutake - particularly in Japan they are ex$pen$ive! I have heard of them going for $20000 yen - Bit under $200 bucks for single fresh ones. I'd like to find one - they do fruit around here - just to see what the hubbub is about. They can't be THAT good.
