Because they're cheap, grimy fucks. Hispanics don't tip well either. If they don't have the money to tip, they should stick to McDonalds. When I was a server I also noticed black people liked ordering sweet drinks, like lemonade and Hawaiian Punch. Do they even try to break their stereotypes anymore or have they just said fuck it?

Same thing in a restaurant. If you go in, sit at a table, order food and the waiter brings it to you, you are entering a social contract. If you don't tip at least something, you are breaking the social contract.
Now wouldn't it have been fair of the hooker to tell you upfront that she charges $50/hour for stimulating conversation? Wouldn't it likewise only be fair of you to either not go into restaurants pretending to be a normal customer or tell the waiter that you won't tip so they can behave accordingly?

So I tell the waiter I will not tip. He brings me cold food, poor service etc. Then what, complain to the manager saying I never come back, waiter gets fired. What does that solve?

I always tip at least 20%.

BTW, if the service is horrible, the trick is rather than leave no tip at all, leave them a penny. No tip just tells them that you're a cheapskate, but if you tip them a penny, that tells them that they fucked up and ruined your meal.

I once had a young couple leave me a penny. I never expected much from young people anyway, they're god damn cheap. They're another group that needs to go to McDonalds or cook at home.

I think being a waiter is much different in Europe. Over there, I think it actually considered a career.

tipping is bullshit. i've had a number of backbreaking jobs in my day and not during any of them did i make as much as a waiter or bartender does with their tips. i still usually go 20% though, and at least 25% if it's a bar where i'm a regular.

leave us non-tippers alone and go back to your under minimum wage jobs that you CHOOSE to work. it is not my fault you are a parasite trying to leech more money out of for doing your damn job.
Hell if I could, I would go to the kitchen window, place my order, get my own drink, and pick up my food. But I cannot. So am i forced to pay for an unwanted service? I go to resturants to get somewhat quick, hot, good meals. I do not want the waiter service. Can you op out ono the waiter in order not to tip? that would be the option I choose.
this is directed to no one in particular, just waiters/waitresses.
