sterile spores?
    #7685678 - 11/27/07 12:01 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I had made 3 syringes from a print i received and inoculated some jars. About a week later there was no growth. I assumed something went wrong while making the syringes, so again i made some more syringes from the same print and inoculated some more jars. Also attempted LC with karo. No growth and a week later you can see the spores just sitting at the bottom of the LC. I've made several successful syringes in the past and have never had this problem before. The only explanation i can come up with is the the spore print was sterile? I don't know. Has this happened to anybody before?

the spores could have been exposed to high heat, radiation... is it an OLD print?

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

No, i actually used it as soon as it came in the mail. It was from a grow log on here that is only a few weeks old.
