Another noob fruiting chamber question

So my fruiting chamber (poor man's pod with perlite) is the same temperature as the surrounding air in my room(70f), and I'm getting condensation on the walls(of the chamber, not the room). My humidity guage is only reading 82%. I think my humidity guage is not working properly. Doesn't condensation mean that my humidity should be at or near 100%. any feedback would be great. My cakes are about ready to be birthed, and I'm concerned about humidity.

Condensation is usually a humidity killer.

Case them.
If you break them up and case them, you will only need a RH of 80-90% anyways. If not, you can always add a good sized air pump for a fish tank with a bubble stone. This usually raises my FC by about 10%.
It helps to keep the room temp that the FC is in close to the temp inside the chamber. If the outside temp is cooler, a lot of your humidity is going to condense on the walls of your chamber. Instead of floating around in the air.

I have a bubblestone under the 4 inches of perlite, with h2o filled 3 inches(as per the Poor man's pod tek). My chamber should be the same temp as my room(I don't know why it wouldn't be).
Out of curiousity, I took the humitity guage out of the chamber, and put it in direct steam, and still only went up to about 85. I think it's a bad guage.
As for casing, I was planning on dunking and rolling in verm. Would this be enough humidity?

wrap your gauge in a damp papertowel for a half hour. it should read 98% afterwards.
