lighting and dunk? PICS
    #7681930 - 11/26/07 01:45 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Alright so I just birthed these babies today and I am wondering if this is a good light setup. I'm using a 20watt 5000k cool white bulb hooked up on a timer for 5 hours a day that shines directly down on the fruiting chamber. My concern is if the light is good where its at or should I move it on the side of the fruiting chamber because I have a white top and I don't know if enough light is getting through. Currently the

Also - do you recommend I dunk these cakes in the fridge for a few hours? Last time I tried this I got a very small yield.... this is my second batch in hopes of a greater yield.

You want to dunk for 24 hours, dunking for a few hours wont allow the cake to absorb enough water.

Dunk in a pot of water, either in a cool place or in the fridge (i have never used the fridge and hadnt had any problems, but some recomend to slow down the growth of any bacteria that may be present)

The bulb you are using should produce good results, however a 6500K bulb might be a bit better. But dont go rushing out to get another bulb.

Mushrooms will grow towards light, move the light and they will follow, i had my light coming from the side and it was very weird having mushrooms grow Horizontally!!

Cut an area out of your lid, then silicone a piece of perspex onto your lid just a little bit bigger that the hole you cut out. If u dont have any perspex availible, cling film can do just fine until you get some

Nice, very nice indeed. I must try that sometimes!!

Anyway upload pic tek!!! illistrated with screenshots of my own pc!!!

First, go to the top of the page, where it says welcome (yournamehere)
Below that there is little words which take u to different parts of you account.

Click pic, this will bring you to a page that looks like this. If u have not uploaded any pics then the will not see any pics there yet obviously. Click upload, as shown in the photo, circled in red

Which then brings up this screen

So browse as you would normally and find the pic you want to upload select it then hit the open button as normal.

If u have several pictures to upload, u will notice that after you hit open for the file u want to upload, it will bring u back here

And you have another space for another pic. Not quite sure exactly the limits on files sizes and amount of pics, but i have uploaded 6 pics

When u click upload, it will start uploading away.

Then

bam

Theres all the pics you uploaded, and it gives you the code u need, simply click the code and it automatically gets copied to the clipboard, simply past into your post now.
