i wanted to know how everyone innoculates meaning.............i inoculate my jars on the oven and run out of space doing it. i want to know how everyone does this process how many jars do you do at a time? i have two hands and sometimes it seems like its not enough, i think you all know what i mean i mean i wipe off my myco filter with light alcohol. then i wipe down the syringe.then i innoculate then wrap my syringe in a paper towel untill the next jar. i mean how can i hold the syringe tighten the jar lid and put on the foil at the same time.
also ...for some sad reason i still dont trust the plastic lids. i mean i use them but i put tape over the hole. i look under a lid and that little seam doesnt seem like it covers the hole. does any one else use glue or tape to cover the injection site or do hey trust the plastic lid..i know its supposed to cover it but it dont look like it......i hope everyone will share ther procedures i think its one of the least talked about things but it always seems like i need 8 hands

I just do my jars in a empty closet. Its really small and I just spray lysol. Since I got my pc I do mostly 5 pint jars of birdseed at a time and the other day I did 10 half pint jars. I just innaculate through 1 hole/polifilter in the lid. All I do is wipe needle with alcohol and innaculate. Then I just set the needle down and put the foil back on top of the jar and stick that into the incubator. I then remove another jar and do the same thing till im done with all my jars. I leave my jar lids loose so im not sure why you are tighting the lids. I have only gotten contam twice in my new jars since I got my pc. One was b/c I put way to much water into my birdseed so I got some nasty green mold before I found the right recipe and the other was b/c I was trying a syringe that I made from a wild cube print.

I have done 24 jars on my first round with no contamination this way:
I use a small bathroom, mist bleach/water around, wash hands. I then punched 3 holes in the top of each of the 24 jars with a nail that I cleaned with alcohol, and set them aside. (I had a layer of plain vermiculite on top of the substrate) Then I had a lighter for the syringe needle, innoculated each hole and set the syringe on a paper towel I had on the counter for it. I then set the jar aside into the boxes that I eventually cased them in and set the lids back on the boxes.
I didn't loosen the lids, I didn't tape the holes I only kept them in a closet that really had not been sterilized. Granted, I didn't get a huge harvest, but I didn't have any contamination from that part of the process either, all my jars colonized with zero contamination.

Just use the smallest space in the house. I use the bathroom. My second choice would be my closet, yes my closet. I always say its better suffering in a tiny stuffy closet or bathroom with the stench of lysol and alcohol etc for 30mins, rather than getting contaminated jars and starting over

one time, i 'nocced in some dirty room with my girlfriend's disgusting, smelly, old, old english sheepdog in the room... lost 2 of 7 jars.... since then, here's what i do... as soon as the jars come out of the PC, i spray the cardboard they came in with lysol... i put em in there and letem sit overnight. then i go in a room where i've got a HEPA filter running. i get out gloves, syringe, dust mask, lighter, cotton balls, and alcohol. i all this shit down on a table on top of a peice of tin foil... the jars go on the same table (after being removed from the case). then i put on gloves and mask.... rub my gloved hands down with alcohol and let it evaporate. flame sterilize the needle and prepare to inject. for each jar, i swab a little alcohol on the injection sites before inoculating. after every 6 jars, i rub my gloves down again with alcohol and sterilize the needle again... this all may be extreme overkill.. but i NEVER get contams... very nice.
