The base of the stem of my mushrooms is hairy: Can I eat all the stem or have I cut it?

me if you have questions about lasers Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles. FeelFamily resident tech guru

I was about top ask the same question, i get that on the base of my mushrooms about 2-3 inches long, its like hairy. At first i thought it was cobweb but on close inpsection its actualy white, hairy strands

yea.. happens to me too... i just eat it and never thought to even ask. haha.. glad you did though.. now i know i haven't managed to shorten my lifespan any.

some striains get more hair then others. I think gt is the worse. Grab the mushroom by the stem at the hairy part and dry it. The hair should turn blue with a copy of your finger print
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
