Tripping in historic buildings

I've always been fascinated with ancient Egypt - the pyramids, hieroglyphics, enormous statues, etc. everything is just epic! Then in high school I visited Spain and got a tour of Alhambra and I was amazed at how much of it was decorated and with what amazing art!

This building is intensely decorated - almost every space is covered with beautiful designs:

So what I am wondering is if any of you have tripped at any place like this and what it was like?
I really hope to experience this at some point in my life as I think it would be absolutely amazing. Not only would it be a visual feast, but connecting with these ancient peoples would be very interesting.

Never tripped at any, but I often enjoy looking through books or online at high-res photos of ancient architecture. It's a very transcendental experience for me. I start to feel like my soul had been there at some point... or could connect somehow with what it might have been like that goes far beyond simple imagination.

I've gone to some really old churches and stuff when I was tripping and so long as it's not catholic with bloody jesuses everywhere it has been very cool.
The best place I have ever tripped is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in new york because they have everything there including a whole ancient egyptian temple and mayan and aztec stuff, huge buddha statues...you never know what you'll find. I've tripped there probably a dozen times and it can get a little intense when you see a giant ancient statue or something. It's almost like flipping through the channels of human history, one minute your all freaking about Mayans and the next you're chilling with Buddha all serene or looking at some intense medieval tapestry where you get trapped in a pattern for an hour.
I've been to Morocco twice and I definitely think that it would be great to trip in a historical building with all the intricate decorations but to be honest that stuff is so trippy anyway that I didn't really need to actually take any drugs. Although I have a painting I bought there that's a piece of wood with a sort of mandala on it and whenever I look at it when I'm tripping it does very interesting things and it made me realize the power of ancient geometric symbols.
My ultimate historical site psychedelic dream is to trip in the ruins of Pompeii. That would be some seriously mind blowing shit--I might never recover!

I would love to go to the Mayan pyramids! Chichen Itza would be amazing. On mushrooms, but especially with yage.

I would love that too, but I've gotten worried that the mayan pyramids might be too intense ever since I started noticing the mysticism and powers of patterns when I'm tripping. Looking at even the pieces of Mayan art at that they have at the museum has literally been the most intense thing I've ever experienced while tripping because it's so powerful. I'm scared if I ate mushrooms at Chichen Itza I'd travel back in time or something...;)

I'm booking a flight to Italy, so I can sneak into this place:
Stunning underground temples
Nestling in the foothills of the Alps in northern Italy, 30 miles from the ancient city of Turin, lies the valley of Valchiusella. Peppered with medieval villages, the hillside scenery is certainly picturesque.
But it is deep underground, buried into the ancient rock, that the region's greatest wonders are concealed.
Here, 100ft down and hidden from public view, lies an astonishing secret - one that has drawn comparisons with the fabled city of Atlantis and has been dubbed 'the Eighth Wonder of the World' by the Italian government.
