It looks too violent for me. I can't really watch stuff like that anymore with all the crap I've seen in my life. Although I have to say it looks like it will go down as a classic.

I have to believe it's better than then "The Departed" which I wasted 3 hours of my life on the other night:thumbdown: My goodness was that weak.

The Departed was pretty epic to be honest.  Leonardo was a bad motherfucker in it :sun:

Leo: You want the truth?
Leo: Valium.

LOL

No Country for Old Man is on the list of need to see movies for me.  Also on the list: American Gangster, Beowulf, I am Legend :goodmorning:

I saw it over the holiday. The ending came up unexpected so I'll have to watch the last scene to make sense. The best movie I've seen all year.

I just saw it last night.

I thought it was a great movie until the ending.

Now I think it was only a so-so movie. That ending was absolute crap.

On a side note, The Departed was probably the best movie I saw last year.

The story was complete when Javier Bardem (hitman) gets in the car accident and walks away.

Ed Tom Bells (sheriff) description of his dream was a pretty moving and appropriate.

Not a typical hollywood ending.

The theater I saw it in was packed, one black guy was being pretty noisy the whole time and the second it was obvious the movie was over he yelled "NAWWWWWWWWWWWW!! AWWWWWW NAAAAAAAAAAWWWW!!!" and a bunch of people followed suit.

It was pretty funny.

Good movie.

No.

But it was a great film. I liked the ending though it did catch me a little off guard.

But if you consider the themes being conveyed, it was pretty appropriate.

I can definitely see how some (a lot) of people wouldn't like it because of the ending, but it didn't bother me so much.

The ending just takes you by surprise, it such an unusual ending that you're not prepared for it. I'll probably have to see it again to make full sense of it.

When walking in some people walking out were telling everyone it sucked... I hate people who do this, it's not as bad as ruining the ending but it's close.

I really enjoyed it. The Departed was pretty bad, IMHO (though not because of the actors in it). I was honestly hoping to see something like Fargo, which is one of my favorite movies, but No Country was still pretty good. It took some time for it to resonate with me. There were a couple of scenes that I found to be absolutely brilliant and Javier Bardem (sp?)was exceptional. Every scene that he was in was absolutely captivating. I loved the non-traditional, non-"Hollywood" ending. Wonderful character study. It's the sort of film that will hit you and stay with you for awhile, but I'm still not sure that it's everything that people say it is. And I honestly had trouble understanding the Texas accents. Accents suck. Except in Fargo. People from Minnesota are funny, you betcha
