verm question

Can i save the verm layer on the top of brf jars for later use? How do i pasturize it or do i even have to? Can i just microwave it?

I think you mean sterilize, not pasturize if your talking brf jars then yes you have to. watch RR's videos on youtube here's the link to the first one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHJQrsZFQdE I think you'll be able to understand the process better after watching. (hope it's okay to do this RR!!) Is this even what your asking about?, maybe your leaving out info in your question?

I suppose if you properly sterilise it, it may work.
Just remember that the dry verm layer is there to catch any contams that might find its way in and stop them getting to the substrate.
Verm is cheap, the little amount used in the dry verm layer isnt worth saving.

yea well since its winter none of the local stores are selling it. mushy mart here I come. I am gonna roll my dunked cakes in it tommarrow i think after microwaving it.

You could do it but I wouldn't recommend it. Just find somewhere that sells a 50litre sac of verm (it will be 25 dollars more or less) and then you can bathe in the stuff if you want to.
