Storing long term with damprid?

Is it OK to store my dried cubes long term in a jar with a teabag full of damprid? Or will the extremely dry air affect the potency? Someone mentioned that on these boards, and if thats the case ill just use the damprid for a couple days then remove it. Im hoping to have my shrooms last for a year or so...

You could do that or you can get them bone dry and throw them in a jar and throw the jar in the freezer.

If there is no water in the shrooms and little or no air around those stored shrooms you will find that potency can be preserved pretty well.
The drier the better, and keep air away from them or the actives will oxidize over time

Use your PC to can them. They'll have the best chance of lasting for a year.

Um, no, as heat destroys the active compounds.
Dry till cracker dry, put in a container that holds little or no air, and if you can, put in some oxygen absorbers and store in a cool place away from light

Nice. So my process is fan drying for a couple days, in a tupperware with damprid for a couple more days to get all the water out of them, then I can store them in one of the ball jars I used in the PFtek, throw in a teabag of damprid and an oxygen absorber (maybe tape it to the lid so it wont touch them) and I'll be good for long term storage? (away from heat and light)
thanks for the help so far! you guys are invaluable

You can get those thick ass storage bags that have a piece in them were you use a vacuum to suck the all the air out. Keep em dry out of air.

I have always store my shrooms in a big plastic jar with a few credit-card sized packets of damprid that I make with ducktape and paper towels.
I like to keep a few extra big packets in there, just in case the shrooms are only 98% dry when I throw them in jar. Damp-rid is awesome at sucking the moisture out and holding it. I even used it a few weeks ago when my crappy razor phone got water in it, I threw it in a baggie with a little pile of damprid and within a few hours the outside of the phone was dripping with water that was being drawed out of it simply by sitting next to the damp-rid.
