I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find one so if there's a link that has my answer I would appreciate it, thanks. So the question is could I use a warm mist humidifier during the winter to keep it from getting too cold or is there a mechanism that the cool mist humidifier has that makes it better to use?

you prob "could" use it, but im sure there are problems associated with it.
people usually use cool mists or foggers. if you ever have questions a good place to start is searching RogerRabbit posts for your questions...will set you in a good direction.
p.s. foggers i feel are superior to cool mists but they do take longer to setup.

well i didn't see much for "warm mist" i think their called something different.
anyways i think the main problem with warm mists is it will create bacteria easier, and you won't get enough humidity.

The biggest problem I can see happening is that because the inside of the tub will be warmer that the outside you are going to get loads of condensation which is not good as it reduces the RH and the droplets will land on your substrate causing aborts and an increased risk of contamination

I guess I'll just use the warm mist to help raise the room temperature, I'll use something else for humidification, I haven't tried perlite maybe I'll use that though I guess.

Perlite for humidity, and a small space heater in the room your terrarium is located, if it's not at normal room temperature already.
Don't use steam type humidifiers. They cause too much condensation. RR
