Newborn Mushy Cakes

[image] [/image]I just birthed my first cakes ever and on 2 or 3 of the cakes, there were already mushrooms growing on them. I'm growing B+ and GT and so far I've had a 11/15 success rate with my jars (only lost 4 to contams!). Quick question about the premature mushrooms...These ARE aborts right? I pulled them off the cake before the first dunk and they are currently drying. Some of them are blue/green....are they safe to eat? I've included a picture. Thanks for your help guys, this has been such a fun experience so far!

The small one next to the O shroom was probably not an abort at the time of picking but very likely to become one. The others have darkened caps which is a very good sign they are aborts.
They look fine, the colour is ok, you've handled them and they have blued accordingly. They look fine to me.
Hope that helps.

your choice on wet or dry. both will make you trip, but in my experience the fresh ones are the best.

That choice should be made on how soon you intend to use them. If it is not in the next day or two then dry them. They rot quickly without drying.

FRESH IS A COMPLETLY DIFFERANT TRIP ALTOGETHER!
people can disagree, but ive done plenty of fresh and dried, dried shrooms seem to be more sketchy
-------------------- my theory: why do we have tolerance? because mother nature created us and shrooms, and she decides when we can see into other realms! and by the sounds of it that one every 2 weeks!

I agree, fresh is different from dry.
I find fresh easier to digeset, with a much more intense body buz and more prominent visuals. I find that fresh i can take much less and have a good strong trip
Others will argue that they cant tell the diffence, its just my experience so far, i might no have drried them properly and there was some potency loss, though i dont see how fan drying them would ever result in loss of potency.
It could have been that those mushrooms were less potent. But i will never know as im growing from multispore and that is possible that some fruits could be unlucky to be not potent.
But dont worry, just becuase u are not growing from isolates or clones, u still get plenty potent fruits.
