this is such a pain in the ass. know a group of people with probably the best privatly owned system in the state and we can't find a damn place to set up.

hmm.. you can have a pretty sweet rave in a secluded house, or maybe rent out a warehouse or something? All you need is hot girls, a couple jars of rolls, and good techno.

haha, thats the biggest problem with the scene... finding a venue...
search long and hard, look for sublets, or even consider renting a warehouse...
bottom line you are going to need only one entrance, and have cameras over the fucking thing, with a man behind the door, only un-locking it when patrons arive.
the cameras will let you know when the cops show up, so you can hopefully have the sound cut before they get out of their cars.
done right, you can pull it off, but its hard as hell to do right.
one more thing, no ins and outs... people will wander around outside all damn night, bringing unwanted attention.

well only one accessable entrance, obviously youre going to need a fire excape and other routes of exit....
another thing to consider, neighbors, they will bring the cops to your door in a matter of minutes. loud music at 4 am pisses people off quite a bit

I know people out here who have a wherehouse where they do shows here in Richmond.
http://www.burntramen.com/
some of the craziest storys ive ever heard have been about that place. One time there was a fire and they roped the fire off until the singer couldnt sing anymore cause of smoke than they cleared the area, put out the fire and finished the show.
Maybe a wherehouse out in the boonies in a ghetto is what you want.
