Mono tub RH

I have read quite a few posts about people swearing that casing a tub is not needed. Wouldnt the RH have to be between 90 and 100 % if uncased. If so, then how do you keep the RH that high? That is the one thing I didnt understand.

I have done a non-cased monotub, however, my substrate wasnt up to the holes cut in it so I misted and fanned like I would any other fruiting chamber.

That is sort of what I figured. This worked well for you? My only concearn is timing, as I only have the room for a very small setup now. I am trying to cut the three days of casing incubation time.

Yes it worked pretty well. Im not sure of the depth of my substrate, but it wasnt a whole lot. I used 1 brick of coir in a stack n view tub, and it broke when I tried to lift it for a dunk (oops), but it yielded 3 oz on first flush, if you can afford to air it and mist it, then go for it, I suppose it doesnt make a whole lot of difference, I had a decent pinset

Thanks, that is what I was hoping to hear. I was also thinking maybe just like a quarter inch of 50/50+ giving it one extra day of incubation then just patch as it transitions into fruiting from veg. Just to keep an even pinset. Guess it is going to take some playing around. Thanks for the input though, that helps me out a lot to know.
