making mead with mushroom honey?

a friend and i were tossing an idea around the other day, and i wonder if anyone can help us out.
we were thinking of making some shroom honey and using it to make a batch of honey mead (wine made by fermenting honey instead of grapes, in case you didn't know).
my question is in regards to the fermentation process and the resulting alchohol affecting potency. does anyone have any info on this?
by the way, this is not an attempt to combine the effects of the shrooms and the mead. we wanted to make the sacred wine a little more magical for a pagan ritual we will attend next year.

any help would be appreciated.

Hey, that's a cool idea..

I've made homemade wine before a few times, turnout out great..

I wonder if the mycelium would get killed by the alcohol content or if it would make your wine cloudy somehow...?

I was playing with the idea of making maple syrup mead, lots of trees around here an dit would be free!! Would mycelium grow in maple syrup?

you make the honey by soaking the fruitbodies in the honey for a few months. psilocybin is absorbed into the honey this way. in the past we have eaten the honey coated caps, and made tea using the honey to sweeten it.

i'm wondering if we can make mead with that honey without losing the potency.

Depending on whether you boil or just pastuerize your honey for mead ... heat destroys psilocybin.
