here are the dementions 14"H x 52.12"W x 20.12"D
im wondering how many qts. of spawn this will take.
neither me or my roommate have done any math since highschool
my parents got one and it is HUGE!, coffin sized, i kno spawing that much poo would open for contams, but i guess if done right, anythings possible.
thank you kindly

I think a viable way to achieve what you're trying to do is spawn into smaller containers and then break up and case in that large container. That is, if you're after some kind of amazing sized container full of shrooms.
Spawning into that much as everybody will tell you is very difficult to get right and an "all eggs in one basket" scenario. I know you know that, I'm just going to say it so that people don't feel the need to repeat.
Good luck though, post a log if you do. People love this type of experimentation.

14 x 52 x 20 = 14560 cubic inches = 216.7 quarts (US dry)

Or 54 quarts of fully colonized spawn if you're using a 1:4 spawn to substrate ratio.

Its perfectly possible, people don't do it of course because there's really no point (unless you're going for the award for the largest casing)/

Volume = Length x Width x Height. Since you probably want a substrate depth of 4 inches, height = 4. From the specified dimesnions, length = 52 and width = 20. Therefore:
V = 4 x 52 x 20 = 4160 inches^3 (cubed)
1 gallon = 231 inches^3, so 1 qt. = 58 inches^4
=> 4160 inch^3 divided by 58 = 71 qts.
So your total substrate volume is 71 qts. At a spawn ratio of 1:4, you'll need 71/4 = 18 qts. of colonised wbs. If you do end up doing it, make sure you post pics!
