SEC= best football conference in the nation. Ten of the twelve teams are eligible for post-season play. Multiple overtime games with LSU- Arkansas 48-50 decided in three overtimes and today's Tennessee-Kentucky game 52-50 decided in the fourth overtime!

Well I wasn't completely serious, but since you're apparently one of the SEC dick suckers that drive me insane I'll continue with the argument.
Last week: Miss St: 31 Arkansas: 45 LSU: 41 Miss: 24
Week 11: Florida: 51 USC: 31 Auburn: 20 UGA: 45
Week 10: Fla: 49 Vandy: 22 UGA: 44 Troy (TROY!!) 34 Miss: 38 NW St (Northwestern State?? I didn't even know there was a fucking Northwestern State): 31 Arkansas: 48 USC: 36 LSU: 41 Bama: 34
Week 9: Georgia: 42 Fla: 30
Week 8: Bama 41 Tenn 17 Arkansas 44 Miss 8 Fla 45 UK 37 WVA 38 Miss St (Yeah, I know they blow) 13
Week 7: UK 43 LSU 37 Tenn 31 Miss St 21
Week 6: UK 23 USC 38
Week 5: Miss St 21 USC 38
Week 4: UK 42 Arkansas 29 Tenn 48 Ark St 27 (that's a lot to give up to a weak fucking opponent)
Week 3: Arkansas 38 'Bama 41 L'Ville 34 UK 40
Week 2: Fla 59 Troy (Troy again?!) 31
Week 1: Tenn 31 Cal 45
Maybe I'm wrong, but that sure as fuck looks like more than 2 games with pretty high scores.

Weeks 4-7 only 6 SEC teams played?? Anyone can see you just selected the games that happened to fit your lame theory. You could cherry pick like that with any conference, ya hater.
The fact remains, at the end of the season ten of our twelve teams are bowl eligible babee!!
If the SEC isn't the best who is?

The amount of teams qualifying for bowl games isn't a good measurement of strength of conference. It would be better to see how the teams fare during the bowl games against other conferences.

Only time will tell. I think a better measure would include a larger sampling size. Such as the conference's record during an entire season against non-conference opponents.
During the 2007 regular season the SEC's winning percentage against non-conference opponents was 88 %. The runner up was the Big Ten with 82% if memory serves. That is through last week's games.
What can I say? We rule.

It's also possibly that the SEC scheduled weaker non-conference games. I'm not saying it's true, but it may be.
I still like the idea of the winning percentages in bowl games showing who is the best conference. If I remember correctly, the SEC did very well last year in bowl games.

Uhh, I didn't waste time posting the games that weren't fucking ridiculously high scoring, I figured that would be obvious. Either way, throughout the year there have been a shitload of high scoring games because I genuinely feel defences in the SEC are kinda weak. I also don't know why you only said weeks 4-7, when there were a few weeks when I posted only one game. Are you that retarded that you think more than half (if not all) SEC teams play every single week?
I never said they weren't the best conference, but I think they're still overrated. All the reasons people cite them for being great can be applied to most, if not all, other big six conferences as well.
As for the non-conference wins, if that stat matters so much, then why do most feel the Big Ten is the weakest conference. People need to stop being blinded by the media and stop paying attention to the bias that goes on in college football. Everyone thinks the SEC is the best conference, but why? They have the best winning percentage of non-conference opponents, but barely, and second is what many think are the worst conference. They have the most bowl game appearances in the last ten years? That's a result of the ranking bias. I wish to god rankings just didn't exist, they fucking ruin every sport.

Obviously manipulative. Just post the high scores from those games which are consistent with your assertion that SEC teams have weak defenses and ignore all the other ones. That is commonly known as "bullshit".

So why must you resort to blatant cherry-picking of scores? Give us some objective stats to base your currently worthless opinion upon.

Now that is funny. You don't even realize when you are undermining your own position.
Quit while you are behind.

Okay, well I'm about ready to shoot myself in the fucking face. I went through every single fucking week and wrote down every non-conference game the SEC played, who won, and the record of the opposing team. Then when I literally got to the last game of week 1 I fucking accidentally hit one of my tool bar bookmarks and navigated away from this page.
I'm pretty sure the SEC had a losing record against quality non-conference opponents, but I could be wrong since I wasn't going to count until after I posted all the games.
Maybe I'll go through and do it again tomorrow, or maybe someone knows somewhere that has that shit already down (there has to be a place that keeps track of that shit.)

Okay, here it goes.
Week 13: 8 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 12: 6 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 11: 6 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 10: 7 SEC games were played, 5 were high scoring Week 9: 6 SEC games were played, 1 was high scoring Week 8: 6 SEC games were played, 4 were high scoring Week 7: 6 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 6: 8 SEC games were played, 1 was high scoring Week 5: 8 SEC games were played, 1 game was high scoring Week 4: 7 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 3: 8 SEC games were played, 2 were high scoring Week 2: 9 SEC games were played, 1 was high scoring Week 1: 11 SEC games were played, 1 was high scoring
So of the 96 SEC games played (SEC games played means at least one SEC team was involved), 26 were high scoring (high scoring = the games that posted last time.)
96/26 = 27.08% of the games.
There, a completely unbiased stat. Take from it what you want.
