i was thinking of using the dunk and roll tek but not not sure if i should roll the cake all over or round the sides.. is the purpose to completely cover the cake or is it to lightly and gently cover the cake round the sides only?? also is it best to start the pinning process while still in the jars and wait for pins until you actually remove the cake from the jars and place in the terrarium or is is best to place in terrarium once the cakes are fully colonised and start the pinning processs from there?? thanx alot for any replies.. much app. shroomhead07

Once the surface is fully colonized wait a couple of days (up to a week ideally) and then birth the cakes.
Then dunk in the fridge for 24h and roll all over with dry verm (it sticks better), place in the fruiting chamber with something between the cake and the perlite and mist the cakes so the verm gets nice and wet, give it a good fan and then fruit as usual

right after you roll in vermiculite, place them in the fruiting chamber and let them sit for about half an hr before misting. this allows the verm to really grab a hold onto the cake. mist too soon and you'll just knock the verm right off. peace and good luck.

Another wee trick that quite a few people have used to good success is to put your verm in the blender to get rid of all the big peices, aparently you get a nice even coating this way.

My verm has no big pieces lol. I got a great supplier that gets a really uniformly sized verm and nice and fine.
I can buy a 50l sack for a tenner
