Midwest Goa scene (US)

Hello everyone!
I recently have become obsessed with goa trance...so I heard about trance parties and I decided I needed to experience this! Most of the websites for these parties just seem to have information on past events, not future ones, so I'm a little confused. From what I understand, some of these festivals pop up within a few months, or for some smaller ones, weeks, days, hours.
Therefore; how can I get information on what's going on in my area? I'm in the north-central midwest, where there seems to be basically nothing, but some surrounding states apparently have a moderately active scene.
Is there anything big coming up for the midwest?(I'm talking like next spring or summer) I don't need anything huge, I guess, just earth-oriented, spirit-oriented, and overall REAL.
Thanks a ton!

it's kind of an underground scene for a reason. your BEST bet is to find a dj who spins it in your area, make friends with them, get on their myspace, whatever. the key is knowing who to ask.

That's right... and as far as i know trance scene in the US is way more 'discrete' than in other parts of the globe... find djs, blogs, myspaces...

i dunno in the US mad people put stuff on websites and myspace but still a shit ton of people dont know and will never know cause they dont have connects. even tho its on myspace you still gota know people or youll never find the myspace page to start with, then if you went theres a shit ton of people and its a bit strange if your completly alone and dont know any one. If anything everyone knows someone who knows someone who chilled with someone who smokes with someone who got some E from that dude who we did K with at someones apartment who knows those people that live in that apartment or something of the such. its a super web of connective material or maybe thats just in the east coast. If you think the east coast rave sence sucks you ovbiously dont know alot of people and dont get invited

Check out http://lucky.to/ I dunno what state you're in, but there used to be a decent scene in NW Ark. I've been out of the loop for the parties though so I dunno if they're still putting them on. Goa Gil was there in October though. Check out some of the organizers like Esoteric Gen and Touch Samadhi. You just gotta look around, there are parties around.

or mabey cuz anyone who throws parties on the east coast can't get more than 60 people to a party, and usually 30 of those people are guys who brought their girlfriends.
at least that's how it is out this way. i dunno about huge one-offs where people book dj's that cost 10k, those usually go off well.
goa trance tho? i couldnt imagine more than 30 kids showing up in DC, 7 of which are promoters who threw the party in the first place and then their friends LOL

well i mean the go from like 7 to 11 our parties in colorado are from like 8 to 6 and we throw massives that have like 10,000 people show up..
thats strange though how no one shows up.. i would think there would be a lot of parties in detroit and chicago and like virginia would be a nice state to throw mad forest parties in the summer..

the electronic scene no longer thrives here the way it used to years back. you could book a bunch of no names to a field party and have 300+ people show up. the interest is no longer here.
i heard last year from someone who works at sonar that tiesto was booked in baltimore and like 50 paying people showed up.
he charged $10k for the booking, demanded a limo and a 5 star hotel as well as whatever drugs and expensive alcohol he wanted.

haha weve met and i wouldnt doubt it that tiesto would expect that.
we have a lot of raves with a lot of people that show up but you dont hear a lot of goa on the west coast.. its mostly trance, hardcore and house... oh and drum and bass
i think the midwest has it lucky because when i go to a party which is every weekend.. most of the time i cant walk 2 feet in 8 seconds going through a hallway to another room... thats how packed it gets at parties here and there really is like no cut off to how many people come in either..

hardcore never got play out in dc either. i remember there was a small series of one-off's back in 2003 in this huge warehouse.
headliners from house and dnb in the 2 main rooms. they had a room with anabolic frolic, rob-gee and a bunch of people from natas recordings. i think there were about 7 people (without any sort of exaggeration) in the room all night. they were funny as hell too. one long haired hippy kid and the other 6 were like kids decked in candy from wrist to elbow.
they were wearing the most rediculous shit ever - stuff that would make a kid with glowsticks, a carebears bookbag with a candy bracelet with the letters 'M-D-M-A' on it go "hey guys, don't you think that's a little excessive?"
not to mention rob-gee. that guy was the funniest. he was like screaming about killing middle-eastern terrorists over some super-fast 4/4 kick drums with what sounded like the theme song to some japaneese childrens cartoon in the background. was probally one of the funniest spectacles i've ever seen.

That sounds sick.. I dont really like Drum & Bass unless I am drunk at a partie and that is not often.. Usually I take 4 ills and 3 doses.. CANDYFLIP know what I mean?
Ive known some really hardcore candy kids so I know what you mean.. A lot of people here in CO get really into it since our scene is thriving.. Like we have all these little raver bunnies that dress up in nothing and you always see them at parties..
