The 2007 northeast season... over?

Hey all,
I live in SW PA and I hike a lot in the woods around here and down in NW and central WV... anyway, I've recently been looking into potential actives that grow in my area. I noted (the relatively new (or at least it seems so, since there isn't much info on it, and the first publications on it are quite new)) Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata and Psilocybe Caerulipes primarily... I have particular interest in the Ovoids, they sound fantastic, and look absolutely beautiful (though I think that all mushrooms do in their own way...) but any active in my area... even Pan. Subbs. would be appreciated, if found and identified.
What I am wondering is essentially... am I too late to bother starting to look for these mushrooms this year? Or... since it hasn't gotten consistently down around or below freezing (even at night it's rarely gone below freezing for long periods) is it still possible to find these species growing in the wild?
Any advice or links to additional information on these species would be greatly appreciated!
(I've already read John Allen's pages on them, and looked up all but the Ovoids (which weren't discovered at the time of its printing) in my field guide and looked at characteristics and such... but any additional resources are welcomed )
Thanks everyone!

I recently found ovoids in Cincinnati. Not a lot like in spring, but they do fruit in the fall also.

The season here in NJ has pretty much run its course if you ask me. Dont forget you can also keep an eye open for gymnopilus spectabilis!

Thanks everyone for the input!
It looks like this season is probably over for psilocybes... but I'm definitely looking forward to this spring!
