Nights made the list Okami is #90 86. Perfect Dark 81. Space Invaders 78. Link's Awakening (the first Zelda game I played)
the list currently stops at 71 but there are a lot of games I wanna see on the list:
Fatal Frame - PS2 (long shot) Shadow of the Colossus - PS2 Snatcher - Sega CD (won't happen) Metal Slug - Neo Geo Mortal Kombat - Arcade Mario - Nintendo Metroid - Nintendo Metal Gear - Nintendo, Sony Prince of Persia - PC? (the 3d ones will prob. make the list) Tomb Raider - PC Pokemon - Gameboy

My favorite current games are Halo 3, Gears of War, Geometry wars, and any Tony Hawk game.
Some of my all time favorites would be all 3 original Mario Brothers, all the Zelda games made up too the N64, and that one Off Road Rally game for the NES. Pac Man is a classic too.
IMO Halo 3 is the greatest game of all time.

Me and my friends played Halo, it's an all right game but I don't think it deserves all the credit it gets. I don't see anything "new" everything in Halo has been done before, but I'm sure it will make the list at least once.
I also forgot to mention Mega Man

what does that mean?
are they excluding games that have previously made the list?
that wouldn't make sense.

Well what are your favorite games then?
Halo 3 is sick! Both the campaign mode and multi player make it the best game out right now hands down.
If I had xbox live I could play Halo 3 multi player online for hours and hours and hours.

Hahahaha, I totally forgot about another awesome game. Anyone ever played the game "Narc"? It lets your character drop acid, take ecstacy, smoke weed, and smoke crack. The gameplay was shitty as fuck but the game was cool as hell just because your character could drop acid or smoke crack whenever you wanted too.

What do you guys think will be number 1?
I have a couple contenders: Pacman, Zelda, Super Mario Bros.

I'm pretty sure you have to click next but you can skip to 100, 90, 80, 70, etc. The go into a lot of detail about why they picked the game so I don't think you'll get a list.

It's going to have to be a good game that really influenced the rest of video game history. Zelda or Mario would be good guesses. I can't think of too many others, maybe pong or Donkey Kong(jumpman/mario)

and the list goes on

In my top 100 would be:
Mario Bros 1 - 3 Mariokart Ghosts and Goblins Metroid 1 Pacman Megaman 1 - 3 Pong
Sim City Colonization
Total Annihilation Starcraft Warcraft2 Warcraft3 WoW
Doom Wolfenstein Counterstrike Quake 2 Duke3D Goldeneye Mechwarrior 2 Halo 1 Syndicate
Xmen vs Streetfighter Streetfighter 2 Mortal Kombat
Zelda 1
... that's all i can think of at the moment, i've missed a heap.

lmao, halo at number 32 you got to be fucking kidding me. That game has revolutionalized game play as we know it. Everyone I mean everyone has it. It made xbox what it is. The storyline along made it great, forget the multi-player.
And whats with people that have hated on Halo 2. I thought Halo 2 had some sick levels. I mean sure, some of them were a bit on the lame side, but only some. Even the original halo had a couple pain in the ass levels ( library for instance ).
Personally, I enjoyed Halo 2 for it's vastness. Huge levels and sweet weapons. I'd give the original Halo the nodd over Halo 2 on that list of course because it started it all, but I enjoyed Halo 2 more.

If you think halo had anything to do with anything in the fps genre, you're very wrong.
I've been playing online fps games for about 10 years now, and halo was nothing new me.

Remember (back in the early portion of the 90s) the shareware cds containing encrypted demos of all the FPS of the day? You were supposed to go online and buy a code to unlock them, but you could simply snatch a bit of dos code and unlock the full version of all the games contained on the disk for free.... yepperdoodle... playing a stolen copy of doom all stoned in the middle of the night...

DOOM Why It Made Our Top 100 List
What can be said about DOOM to sum up exactly what it meant for gaming? While first-person shooter stalwarts such as Wolfenstein solidified the market by treading the multiplayer ground where no gruesome, mangled soldier had gone before, DOOM took the multiplayer realm one step further by offering LAN support way ahead of the curve.
But more importantly, DOOM was the first FPS to rely on shocking visuals to aid the gamer through the halls of each corridor, using crazy, yet down-to-Earth guns to blast mutant beings in half. No game prior to DOOM made such potent, horrifying imagery in a first-person setting. It didn't quite predate Mortal Kombat, but it sure offered a fresh perspective, and thusly changed the landscape of the industry hand-in-hand with Ed Boon's baby. User maps, anyone?

# 1
Super Mario Bros.
Why It Made Our Top 100 List Super Mario Bros. is gaming.
Carved into those deliberately fashioned pixels is the collective childhood of an entire generation of gamers -- many of whom have gone on to work in the industry, creating the videogames that we all play on a daily basis. As one of the foundations upon which the industry was built, Super Mario Bros. not only set the standard for 2D side-scrollers, but for videogames in general: gameplay that is demanding but not frustrating, pixel-perfect controls, inspired level design and a musical score that, to this day, remains synonymous with videogames.
It will not remain that way forever, as the industry matures and gamers are weaned on entirely different experiences the influence of Super Mario Bros. will inevitably fade, but for now we give tribute to not just a videogame, but to the videogame. For many of us, it's the reason we're still involved in the industry to this day.
A masterpiece.
Fun Facts Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima has been quoted as saying, "It's simply impossible to grow tired of Super Mario Bros." Shinji Mikami, best known for the Resident Evil series further praised the title stating that, "I don't think there are many games that we can identify immediately by a simple sound effect."
In 1999, Super Mario Bros was inducted into the Guinness World Book of Records as the best-selling videogame of all time with (as of then), 40.23 million copies sold.
