May be a bubble. Like a soap bubble.
We are but resonating strings on a sheet that envelopes a bubble.

I read that some super dooper quantum cats say its a four dimensional hyper cube...

Ah, I must correct myself...a 4 dimensional hyper sphere

first of all, if its flat then how thick is it. theres no such thing as flat...
if it was flat we would all be in 2D... do these people get paid? i could use some money and don't mind touting the idea that there are only TWO DIMENSIONS. flat? picture an infinite piece of paper... how boring.

It's a metaphor. You have to speak of higher spacial dimensions in SOME say, and you can only do that by comparing to things we can comprehend. Many pictures in many books depict three dimensional space as a flat plane, with movement in the third dimension actually being movement in the fourth spacial dimension.

it just seems silly to me that scientists who get paid real money think that the universe is flat. its not flat otherwise we could not move, dance, or do anything... "am i wrong? am i wrong? no walter your not wrong your just an asshole!"

Perhaps the 4 dimensions are enveloped in a flat plane, and still exist separately as 4 dimensions with an additional 2 dimensions of the enveloping plane
Probably not though

You are misunderstanding. Flat in this context does not mean 2-D flat like a plane, a piece of paper. It means "Flat" for 3-D, for which we have no word because we can't percieve higher than three spacial dimensions. But math can, but math doesn't use words. So you have to use a metaphor, and this one is..."flat".

In 2D-space, you can walk forward. If you always walk forward on earth (in 3D-space), you will come to the place you started once. The (almost unnoticeable) up-down movement is not relevant for a 2D entity moving forward on the ground. Same is possible for higher realms of space-time dimensions.

Nope, the microwave radiation background from the big bang is suggesting a dodecahedron.

well sure, the MICROWAVE vibrations might be a little muddled because they are so delicate, bouncing off of things and affected by gravity and such, and a dodecahedron is actually very close to being a sphere. but the fact is that the stars, galaxies, and super galaxies are all moving outwards from a central point, and the definition of a sphere is having all points equidistant from the center. and thats what we have. understand?

It think I did read somewhere that the universe expands (if it really does, then) not homogeneously.
edit:We could pass the question over to the science forum and then gather again to discuss the results and their spiritual and philosophical implications Maybe something like this: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7224209#7224209 even if it's a closed thread

Scientists dont get paid real money.
Its flat, the universe is the thinest plane in existence, it's like a sheet. THE sheet, an inescapable sheet. IF somehow you were able to be outside the sheet, then it would look infintismly thick, more like a block that starts where it ends, and fuck's itself up its own ass.
You may feel like you are moving in multiple deminsions that a flat sheet would not allow- but in fact you are only moving in 2. It feels like 3 from behind your eyes- but the sheet moves with you, rotating and flexing.
