So, down where it's warm... has anyone here caught/kept/bred a bufo mirinus? What season do they generally come out? They have bufotonine correct? That is a smokeable substance correct?

I understand that bufo alverius contains 5-meo-dmt BUT I was interested in the bufotinin alone. I know that the cane toad holds a good amount correct? I saw that cebil seeds have a large amount of both bufotonin and 5-meo-dmt. Anyways, whats the story?

You probably shouldn't be. I was curious about that at one point too. I know erowid says that bufotenin may be psychedelic in it's own right but I just don't think it would be worth it. This is purely speculation, but I just don't think the effects of it would be worthwhile enough to smoke toad venom.

I own two and I love 'em. But I've been told that it's hard to get them to breed in captivity.

Whats the deal with me hearing that Phyllomedusa bicolor frogs are psycoactive? I found somewhere just now that is selling the toad for 85 - 95 dollars and I'll purchase one tomorrow hopefully!

I live in South Florida and I see those Cane Toads every where almost all year round. Don't hear much about people taking them as psychedelic. Just hear a lot of cases of dogs fucking with 'em and getting sick and dying.
As a kid I used to stick firecrackers in their mouths. If you adjitated them this white stuff would come out on the sides of their neck.

Sounds like that would have done more than agitated them, eh?
When I was a lot younger a shot a chipmunk with a bb gun. It didn't die right away and for a while it was just squirming around and shit. I was a stupid little kid too but, at the time anyway, I'll admit that I was also a big jerk. That "I didn't know any better" excuse is crap.

If you're gonna get one from someplace that already has them in captivity and provide at least an equally good habitat for them then I see no problem with it.
But yeah, I don't really think it's good to keep toads that you caught either. It's just screwing with nature a little too much. I'm glad that it doesn't sound like you're still planning to do that.
