em, why is that not in your fruiting chamber, each time you take it out of the humid enviriemtn the surface of the mycelium will dry out.
Its important to have constant high humidity at the surface of the mycelium for even development of knotting.
After you dunked, you should have rolled in in verm aswell, then moistened the verm.

To gain knowledge such as all of the above. It spends less than one minute outside of it's home, after which it is humidified generously.

Rolled in vermiculite as well? Why is none of this in any of the PF Tek's... ?

Did you watch the videos? It was on the videos. And a quick search through the forums yields some good results for PF Tek. Tek's change over time and people forget to change the written copies. It's life.

lol.... cakes......
SO much more complicated, and harder to fruit than bulk. Who ever came up with the idea that cakes are for noobs needs to be shot.
They contam so much easier than bulk IMO and you have to have constant HIGH humidity.
Bulk casing are easy, require less attention, and produce so much more.

I think I'll look into casing next time around...
Which by the looks of it will be now.
What Tek's do you follow?

I'm having the same problem I had last time.
Though this time the growth on the cakes is very rhizomorphic, but no pins in about 2 weeks. They get plenty of fresh air and humidity. What can I do?
