somits been frosty every morning lately and did not rain yesterday and isnt supposed to the whole week. i have a patch of cyans i found about half are still tiny pins and the other half are about half way through full growth. Will the semi mature ones die from the lack of rain ar will they survive.. Should i pick them noew before they die or leave them with no rain?? I would rather pick them now then let them die.

If you're afraid of them getting not enough water, why don't you take some bottles with you and water them? See how they develope under the frosty cirumstances and if they don't get dark, let them grow a little longer. Almways remember, that picking them too early keeps MANY spores from spreading!

yes exactly . mushrooms are living creatures. if this is your patch and you care about it try to bring some water, you can carry a gallon of water prety easy, also you can put a bunch of leaves on top of the patch and the fruit body it won´t hurt then and can protect then from the cold, , i guees you will fell better if you do this since you will be helping this creature , than will pay you back good and you will developed a relationship that can last some years . all my best

you wouldnt need a whole gallon! i would lightly water them as too much can drown them or in cold weather possibly kill them... lightly water them but not on the fruitbodies rather the substrate.

You can water the fruitbodies! They love it! Keeps the caps viscid!
