if your finding those, then you should easily be able to find copelandia cyanescens (blue meanies). copes are the same size and look very similar to the ones you found,.. but they blue.

those are not magic. i can tell you that from the bottom picture. the center of the cap where the stem was torn off would be blue if it was magic.

check out my topic 'florida florida florida'. the picture with the red backround is a big pile of copelandias. i saw so many of them yesterday that i must have passed up thousands of them.

look in shade for the shrooms, in the forest.

cubensis is the only species of mushroom you want to pick OR EAT. go find them, theyre back and we are slowly putting this drought behind us!!!

look in the shaded areas of cow forests for the shroom. and Absolutely (if you dont know already) learn to identify a real cube from a fake. you can eventually get it down to a split second descision of whether its cube or not.

I have picked the "good" mushroom a million times, but because I was only into the ones that I have been advised to look for i have only picked those. My point is that the "gooodies" i know, but there are always options, so i ask the experts. As you can see i came to the good folks here to id something I have never seen. my point is pick what you know and eat. Pick what you don't know and ask... I know a purple ring as good as the next guy... Im thirsty, i need water, but if gatorade comes my way i will drink... i am still a bit confused about looking for the "unusual" maybe someone here can educate me on the ones I am not used to looking for...
