coffee filters on my jars?

If I was to use coffee filters on my subsrtate jars should i cut it back to the size of the lid?.... Or does it even matter if i use them?..... If so is there any specific kind i should use ? thanks for any help..... Oh yeah it is a PF Tek with (BRF) and vermic...

not needed, micropore tape on the inoc holes is plenty along with the dry verm barrier.

Coffee filters won't stop contaminants. If you want to cover the tops with something, use tyvek. In fact, you can skip the verm barrier and simply use tyvek on your 1/2 pint jars. It lets you get a bit more substrate into them. RR

wouldnt the tyvek get wet? and i hear people talking about stuff wicking in and stuff etc. any idea?

It shouldnt get wet as long as you cover your jars with tinfoil while pressure cooking.
Yes if they are wet, its possible for contams to wick threw, they wont get wet from the substrate as you will leave a small gap so its not touching the tyvek.
