so i was a great student you might say. i've spent 3 years wasting my time, allowing my life to disintegrate, traveling, playing counter-strike and posting on the shroomery. i'm ready now to sort of enter society although i'm out of practice. it seems to me like you have to totally prostitute yourself to get a job. everyones so robotic and if you aren't a robot then people don't want you around. it also seems like there's this unspoken belief with most people that if you dropped out or spent more than 3 days of your life without going to work, you are somehow forever infected with some sort of incurable disease.
anyway i figured some people here have jobs and take drugs and can help me fill in my gaps in employment and maybe give some words of encouragement or tips on interviewing, etc. i've got social anxiety issues so that doesn't help.
i was a good student and finished 11 grade but dropped out. ive only had jobs at 3 places ever (im 21) and 2 were for 1-2 months and another for 5 months so that leaves big gaps. i got my GED, but people always ask like "why the gaps in employment" and i get wicked scared and start mumbling incoherently/try to come up with a "good" answer off the top of my head, but so far no beans. i could get unemployment or something but that would at most be a short term thing i need a job even if i get that. it seems like you need to know somebody as a contact to get a good job, or i could commit to going to school for 4 years...
anyway i guess i'm just at a loss as to why i can't get a job. there's like a secret to being alive that i don't get. i don't have any friends either. any advice, no matter how painful, is welcome.

you should just get a relative to cover for you and say you worked doing something for them, and put it on your resume

I don't want to sound rude, but look at your qualifications:
You dropped out of high school, then spent three years sitting around doing nothing.
What do you expect? Would you want to hire someone like yourself?

I would say get into meditation. It can work wonders when you feel as if your life is out of order, and can provide you with internal answers that can solve practically any problem you have. Your not a failure and once you see the gem inside yourself, then the transformation begins....but are you ready to allow this success?

I dropped out of high school and spent the following three years on my ass. When I looked for a job I found one, it was an overnight job.

Get a shitty part time job and start going to a 2-year tech school! Learn a skill, man! There are lots of employment opportunities out there where they don't give a fuck about your social skills! You just gotta learn how to do something!
And ya, I probably wouldn't hire somebody with your track record either. Get a shitty (read: easy to get) job and stick with it for at least a year. That gives you a lot more than what you've got now.

u sound like a nonconformist (which is a good thing) u will most likely have to get jobs which dont require u to jump through many hoops look into commercial fishing, sport fishing, picking edible mushrooms (sell them to restaurants), tree planting, landscaping, river rafting guide, recycle metals, buy and sell things at street fairs, farmers markets most likely u will never be hired by a corporation or big business, they want people who will follow all orders and get along with the others in the pod and have played the success game, like all the asians u see at the universities in california, success programmed from womb to the tomb, zero personality
