I intend to start doing LC however i am curious how to add a filter would anyone be kind enough to post some pics of their lids. or a lid thanks

you really dont need any fancy syringes poking out the top its complications that arent needed, ive just done my first lcs using a pint jar with a hole for the syringe using a small nail ,and drilled a hole about 8th of an inch in the center and micropore taped them both if its your first lc dont complicate it mine worked really well
then once you have a master culture you can suck some of the mycelium out and inject into a working culture which you will ennoc your substrate with
easy

all the FAQ's i read they use silicone to seal the holes. not needed?

ive just made 6 lc's and have done test ennoculation on each in brf verm jars, and are all coming back good and like my last post said ive kept it dead simple one big hole, one needle sized hole 4grms honey in 200 mls water and micropore taped the holes and untill i see the need to get more complicated,i wont 
anyone else care to add ???

Honestly i think it's what ever works best for you.
There's more than one way to help your grow at each step of the way so whatever methods you find that work for you are best.
"more than one way to skin a cat" so to speak.
I use silicone glue because i had some and it's nice being able to flip my jars upside down when they start getting low without having to worry about my micropore tape getting wet. Plus the silicone glue is self healing innoc. point. it's really not complicated and very simple.
Honestly man just go with whatever works BEST for you. You could probably get away with a glass covered with foil taped at the edges with masking tape and a micropore covered hole at the top.

what type of silicon do you use ?
i tried the baby bottle tek and filled the teats with silicon, and the fuckin smell was un beleivable, me like a din sniffed it to see if there was any odor and it nearly took my head off lol

Also if silicone works does it still need air exchange? i am not trying to confuse myself i just don't want to waste my time.

thing is the you arent really gonna get any air in the jar with nothing to push it in like a syringe ?

i would say not too worrie too much at first then work on it ,i think your gonna need a filter for long term and it may even make the culture grow a bit faster but all i can say is mine is doing just fine and ive done it as basic as it gets,but saying that i will move it on now i know the culture is successfull,
