Hey everybody, well im guna be starting a new grow soon (if i can find some f-ing jars) but anyways, i have done my reserch and know the standard amount of perlite to put on the bottom of a large container is bout 5 inches. but i also plan on trying out some diffrent sized containers than the standard storage bins most people seem to be using. so my question is if anybody knows of some kind of guide/formula for how many cubic inches/centimeters/whatever of perlite it takes to humidify a given space?it obiously doesnt have to be a perfect. just a rough idea would be helpful
thanks for the help!

several inches of perlite that has had water ran over it and drained well.

i dont think theirs an equation really. depends on the normal humidity of the room around it, temp, air flow, ect.
a very small amount can humidify a given space, it will just dry out very quick.
while 5 inches will last a month or 2. i don't think too much can hurt, as long as the water isn't gathering at the bottom. get a decent humidity gage and experiment. its pretty hard to mess up usually.

For bigger fruiting chambers, like ones that can house 6+ cakes then 5 inches of well moistened perlite should do fine.
For smaller fruiting chambers 2-3 inches should be ample.
Theres not really a formula to it, u jsut gotta try and if it doesnt work add a little more, improve the design of your FC and see if it works.
Generally 3-5 inches should give 95% RH in a well built fruting chamber.
Remember that there are alternatives like hydroton, which is ball like things that u sit in a few inches of water, with the added advantage u can stick an air store under the water for FAE
