First time grow here. Ive been reading here everyday for about 3 weeks. just recieved my spores and im ready to go... Just one question... I have 2 marthas setup, one for my grow chamber with a vicks cool mist, and one completely blacked out with black spray paint for my incubator. Now for my heating for the incubator should i use my small digital blower fan inside the martha on the bottom shelf? or outside the martha and inside the room? and also, should i cut some slits in the incubator for FAE..? Im going WBS spawned to bulk horse poo, since i have plenty available. Soaking my WBS tonight! thanks to everyone for all of the great information i have learned here!

No. FAE is for fruiting. All you need is gas exchange.

The new CW is to incubate at room temperature (i.e. 74-78 F) as to discourage contaminate growth.
Good Luck

Ok thank you!, But Should i cut some slits in the incubator and cover with micropore tape then for more gas exchange through the martha? Thanks again!

The gas exchange should be taking place through the holes in your jar lids and through the verm barrier. Did you do the PF-TEK? So no holes are needed on the material that makes up the cover to you're martha the space inside holds enough air.
You can incubate on a book shelf in an open room - it's what i do and it works fine for me, I don't think spray painting the martha was necessary.
Good Luck!!

No. Leave the incubator alone. When you spawn to your Hpoo, cover the bulk with some tinfoil and poke holes in it. Cover those holes with Micropore. That is how you will provide the gas exchange you need. There is plenty of gas in the incubator to go around. After you case the bulk, put that tinfoil back on the bulk, put the bulk back in the incubator for a couple of days. After those days pass, remove from incubator, patch, and introduce to fruiting conditions.
Viola.

yes i did the pk-tek. sounds good, I painted the martha black so it diddnt get any light inside the incubator, especially for when its spawned to bulk to prevent premature pinning.. maybe it wasnt nessessary but it cant hurt. Thanks alot guys!

If thaTS the case what should my fruiting temps be? I thought it was supposed to be a bit less than incubation temps for a little cold shock right?

74-78 F. The cold shocking is primarily for other species of mushroom. The primary fruiting initiators are:
FAE 12/12 light High RH
These are the things that will start your case fruiting.. not so much the drop in temps.

kind off, but it appears that the temperature drop is not really a pinning trigger, the pressent of Fresh air and light are pinning triggers, along with humidity to support the need for moisture
