Anyone here good with Cars?
    #7653666 - 11/19/07 07:00 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I need to replace my passenger side mirror both of them are powered but when I look online here to find a replacement all they have is manual for the passenger side and powered for the driver side. Can I put a maunal on were it should be powered? Ai just need it to fit on there thats it. Also they are all black colored and mine is chrome. I have an 88 New Yorker Landau.

And power mirrors are expencive! My friend just spend almost 800 on ///m3 mirrors with paint, though they are heated power and auto dimming.

What's your make/model I'll see what I can come up with.

Are you sure it's a power mirror. This one claims its "manual remote" and has some kinda cable. Have you taken it off?

I also can't find any chrome ones... But the chances are Chrysler doesn't sell painted body pieces for that car anymore, and I doubt there's much of a market online for painted 88 new yorker parts.

Well autozone can get me the same one, chrome and everything but it's $100. I already have to replace my windshield which is $200 so I'm juts gonna leave it the way it is for awhile. It's just hanging there though which is the problem. I have to take off the door panel to be able to get the mirror off and that panel is a bitch to get off from what I've read I've tried it myself but to no avail.

Probably not worth the money, I mean it's still attached your car just adjust it with your hand and leave it, on my old car I couldn't adjust the passenger side.

So whats broken on the mirror? Is it cracked, does not not move anymore?

Or, did you get drunk, and leaned on it while trying to look cool in front of a girl? Thats usually how i break my mirrors.

Depending on what it is, a manual one might fit just fine.

before you try to hack your door panel off,
i suggest replacing the window rocker switch first.
that very well might be your problem.

The controls? Neither side's window stitch works for the passenger, but the diver's side works for the driver's window.

Yeah, and neither of the controls for that window works so it has to be the motor.

First thing to do when checking out electronics is to check fuses. Then move up on repairing by the smallest(easiest to fix) parts.
