Once 'lucid' I can do anything.. More than I can do here..

Key for me, is learning to not forget the dreams.. Integrating them, not just "recalling" or "typing down" ..

It is easy to spot a troll when the topic is "lucid dreaming" ..

I believe the OP got a little derailed in terms of thinking. It's best not to limit yourself and starting going on dreams and sleeping. Drugs can cause some permanent perceptual changes causing your world to seem as an Alternate reality.

That is the question indeed. I can only speak from experience. And I know for a fact, that I have experienced at least a week of "awaken dreaming", while in reality, I only been dreaming/sleeping for a few hours..

It sure makes one muse, on the possibilities.

dream time is not time (it is still images  and short sequences recalled to the mind stage)
because the body is sleeping, events in a dream (conjured from memory) can
1. be a short sequence or slide.
2. jump back or forwards
3. loop
4. experience instantaneous location changes
5. freeze or go into extreme slo mo
6. chimerically combine parts of one scene/body with another and do all of the above making the chimera (gargoyle or angellic beings) seem as real as normal seeming things that loop, freeze, jump or slide.

a full dream may be a second or 2 in body time, but may seem to extend over days or years in dream time (there is no dream time)

I have heard at death that the brain does not die for several minutes.  If it goes into dream land full on that could be an eternity of sorts .

that might be so if your head does not explode or get squished; did you think we might possibly leave death out of a thread?
people are starting to think you might have an obsession.

I even recall having lived whole lives. It it so surreal to wake from..

This is why I dislike the term "lucid dreams" .. As I experience it, it is nothing but awaken dreams! .. I feel as real, or even more real, when awake in a dream. Than when being awake here..

I'm very obsessed with death. Didn't you know that most great discoveries are the result of obsession?

I thought discoveries were from creatively exploring the world and your dreams.
While obsession is more in the direction of scab picking;
unless you are obsessive about exploring the world and your dreams.
Maybe you need your knot untied, I liked it better when that sweet lady loved you.

Have you seen the movie source code? A mans brain was still partially active after death.

Another one to add to the list eh? It actually applies to this thread very much in terms of multiple parallel realities, but yet too vivid to be dream.

Seems as if the main character was suffering at first, but I don't want to disclose too much.

That must be some crazy feeling waking up from that. Is your dream recall so good that you can remember all this? Or is it something else?

Would you say we all experience these kinds of things in our dreams but aren't able to recall it? At least in its entirety?

I'm really interested in the dream state and its possibilities. It's fascinating to me and I want to take in as much knowledge as I can haha

It is like you know what I could answer, and read my mind. :p Kind of scary/funny .. You read much of my previous posts?

Anyways..

It is beyond crazy.. But I guess "crazy" is a adequate word. :p

I worked on dream recall, all my life.. I never tried to "induce" lucid dreaming, as I think as you asked; that we ALL dream like this, every night.. But it is the recall-ability that fails in most of us..

So yes, it is all about recollection of the dream, for me.. Or rather in fact, not forgetting them in the first place.. (But I will derail if I go on about that, now.)

YES! I would say we all experience these kinds of things in our dreams but aren't able to recall it.. Or rather; We EVEN chose NOT to! .. I have gone to "councils" when dreaming, knowing I was about to wake up.. And we went though what I could and could not be able to not forget.. Again, just so absurd I almost lack words..

I think lucid dreaming is somwehere in between the dream world and the natural world.. You have that feeling that youre awake but there are something a little off about it.. the worst part is freaking out about it.. I'm still not use to it.. my goal is to face my demons and mock them..

I very often have very realistic dreams where I can physically feel things in the dream, but something that I find interesting is that no matter what the dream is, there is never any spoken language involved.  All communication just happens.

I have also had dreams where I "awoke" from the dream while still dreaming.
