I have used my 21 quart on a glass stove top with no problems. You shouldnt need the hotplate.

oh , well i was doing searches and i seen where people where worried about using pressure cookers on glass stove tops.
hmmm, so you think a 23 qt one will be fine?
i'll be doing wbs bags in them. how many 5 pound bags could i fit in there?
because you say watch the weight?
i dunno, i'll spend the extra on a hot plate to protect my stove.

The manual for the stove should have a weight limit listed in it. I wouldn't exceed that limit.
and you can fit 10 quart jars in a 21 quart presto not 7 (turn them sideways on top to fit 3 more)

If the instructions on the PC say to not use it on a glass stove top, I'd follow the instructions and not do it. AA advises against using their product on glass tops. I doubt the made in china pc manufacturrers give a shit if you ruin your stove or not. RR

my great uncle used to use one on a glass stove, but he made a triangle out of 4 gauge spring steel that goes between the PC and the rangetop

You need a lot of wattage to run a large pressure cooker. I remember reading on here that someone was trying with a 2000+ watt burner and it took hours to get to temp.

A hot plate like that hunk of walmart crap won't work on a larger PC and barely work on smaller ones..
I have a two eye portable range with two 750watt eyes I put my AA 921 on BOTH eyes.. this speeds it up alot.. but still slow.
