Ive heard you can wash it with a diluter peroxide solution and bake it in the oven. Never done it, but makes sense.

Ya do that like 350 for a hour or two just watch it don't burn or just do a few jars of it in your PC. There is a tek around here for re-using verm not trying to sound like a ass but try the search probably find it around a million times.

It's cheap as hell but if you want to reuse it just bake it in the oven, with a previous soak in bleach or peroxide if you want to.
I don't know if it can burn though. It's a rock, can you burn rock? Oh, and it gets very hot so careful handling it

Wow, I've used the same bag of perlite for ~4 grows and I didn't have to do any "fancy"(lulz) sterilizations. You could probably just load up a few jars and PC it along with your other stuff.

Salts are pretty reactant favored. Meaning that they will require lots of heat to decompose. I think I recall that the dH of NaCl ----> Na+ + Cl- is ~890kJ/mol. It would take 2x the Heat produced by the detonation of Nitroglycerin to react Salt. So no, it won't ruin the perlite.

You don't need to "wash" it. At 350F, nothing survives.
Also, perlite is volcanic glass, you can't "burn it", it will only melt. But that's over 800f, and if you have an oven like that... god damn.

I wash mine with bleach coz it leaves it nice and white like it was when I bought it. Obvioulsly you don't need to but if it is a bit gungy I don't like the look of it
