I went hunting today in the foothills of northern california (mixed deciduos/ coniferous) and I hope I found some goodies!
Species #1
    Habitat- In groups of 1-6 in pine mulch
Gills- grey black
Stem- 2- 2 1/2 inches, thin, white, hollow, breaks easily
Cap- 3/8- 1 inch, red brown when young, fading to cream when old or dry.
Spore Print- Jet Black
Bruising- none
Species #2
    Habitat- Pine mulch in groups of 1-4
Gills- grey brown
Stem- to 1/4 inch thick, from 2-3 inches long, white, hollow
Cap- 3/4- 2 1/4 inches Fading from brown (paler than above) to tan on drying
Spore print- still working on it, so far it looks black, but it might have a purplish tint
Bruising- none noticed
Species 3
 
Habitat- 4 solitary mushrooms groming within a square yard under coniferous tree
Gills- Brown black, high contrast to cap
Stem- White, hollow, to 3/8 inch thick, 4-6 inches long, looks like its rough and peeling away.
Cap- light cream (not yellowish like it looks in the pic, my camera's colors are off a little, but very light), vellar remains remaining.
Spore print- still coming
Bruising- none noticed
Species #4
 Habitat- Solitary at base of conifer
Gills-Brown
Stem- Ringed (dissolved when picked), white, 2 1/2 inches
Cap- Brown, fading to tan center, tan when dryed
Spore print- Dark brown
Bruising- none
Species #5
 
Habitat- Solitary near conifer
Gills- Pores, yellow staining brown
Cap- Brownish yellow, 5 inches
Spore print- still coming, but I think brown
Bruising- only on pores turning from yellow to brown

Habitat- in oak leafs ~3 feet apart from each other
Gills, white
Stem- from volva, 1-3 inches above ~1 inch volva
Cap- Broken scaly, white, 2- 3 1/2 inches
Spore print- white
Bruising- none
Species # 8
 
Habitat- in coniferous forest under needles& soil
Gills- orange brown bruisng green, decurrent
Stem- 3/4- 1 1/4 wide by 1-3 inches long, white with red and green spots
cap- orange/tan with orange brown rings, green tinting on some
Spore print- white
Bruising- green

1) Psathyrella 2) Psathyrella, possibly older specimens of the same species 3) Stropharia ambigua 4) Psathyrella 5) Suillus 6) Probably Amanita muscaria, but I would need to see the base to be sure 7) http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Amanita_magniverrucata.html 8) This is either Lactarius deliciosus or Lactarius rubrilacteus. Either way its a good edible.

I seem to be pretty good at finding edibles, but I haven't found an active yet, Maybe I should get a new field guide that actually shows psilocybin species.

nice picture seem you are getting close to pellicullosa and you want to find it hope you do , i guess Alan give a terrific id i will just second that so easy , ha ha but true. a good guide is your best friend i don't relay on animals.

it's all about the bruising. seriously though, once you find some you'll realize how distinctive they are (generally).
