i JUST sat down from doing my first G2g Transfer. and im makin my log now
i had 600ml of wbs, and i got 10 quart jars.
i used 1 SUPER FAT tablespoon per jar....it seemed to equel out.
i disinfected my bathroom for an hour...lysol, alachol , yada yada.
i didnt want to used my glove box becasue qorking with Qt jar was just to cumbersome in it. i kno i upped my possible contamination but i work lighting fast.
thats the key man....sterile room, wear some gloves, and work fast as hell.
good luck man.

I don't know if mycelium that has started fruiting can revert to vegetative state or not. That would be the only issue

okay.....so i could probably get a few more than 3 more quart out of each one of already colonized quarts. Now my question is this...my jars are already forming pins invitro, and i haven't even gotten my grain yet. i'm about to go to the co-op right now and get some, start brewing coffee for the soak, but i'm wondering if there is any way to slow down the growing process in my jars, or if it really matters if there's a couple pins in there when i G2G tomorrow, because i need to let my grains soak for 24 hours...

i'm pretty posi that i've seen RR say that it's alright, but i just want to make sure. i'm pretty positive it'll be fine, as my oysters were starting to form invitro last time before i spawned to straw, and it worked fine still. i'm just wondering if there's any way to slow it down, or how extensive the pinning can get before it's too late to use for a G2G, as it seems i won't get a chance to spawn till tomorrow evening (what with soaking for 24 hours, then PCing, then cooling...)

Don't mix your terms up, you mean species not strains. I don't know how the species you are cultivating responds to cold. I didn't mean that you cold shock them, just stall them in the fridge. In fact if it a cold loving species putting it in the fridge probably wouldn't even stall it.

yeah, they've been taking of pretty well, and i'm running them at around 65 degrees F, hasn' gone above 68 and below 58....i might jusrt stick them in the fridge till tomrrow, see what happens. you know what i meant with the terms...i was consciously thinking exactly what you said as i was typing that, but i couldn't be pissed to go back and change it...
