Today I went out picking and came across these in someones front lawn. http://www.sporeworksgallery.com/albums/semilanceata/semipair.jpg that site claims that they are liberty caps, are they really?
Spore looked liek there was a hint of purple, it was hard to get anything out of it.

Dude, you should really read the ID request rules, to stay out of "trouble". Nobody can help you, if you don't post ANY information about the mushroom, the habitat etc. Additional, it's kind of impossible to ID a mushroom without at least ONE decent pic. There are SO many lawn mushrooms that might look like Libs to someone without any experience, that it's probably sure you didn't find any. It's highly doubtful you find them growing in someones front lawn. It's not their natural habitat...
So read the rules, take some pics and THEN ask again!

Cap is as seen, what you see is what you get, The only thing I can telly uo is that the cap is slimy
Gills: are the same color as the outter cap and look adnate
Sporeprint: I was baked hwen I looked at it, but I could barely see anything on the paper except for what looked like a hint of purple.
Stem, is longish but very think, dark at the bottom and gets light when it near the cap.
Habitat is on the front lawn of a haridresser place. facing northish
there were a lot fo them./

They are not liberty caps, those would not grow in the lawn at a hairdresser place.
You probably have a Mycena species or Panaeolina foenisecii. Nothing active.
Real pictures are important, the pic you posted is not the mushroom you have.
Do the spore print on tinfoil so you can see it even if it is white.

Hey Alan, I kinda figured that you are the expert here. But, that mushroom looks exactly like the one I picked. Where would a good palce to find lib caps be considering I can't get to a cow farm, too far of a walk.

As I already said, there quiet a lot of mushrooms that resemble Liberty Caps for people without experience. There were SO many ID requests of people who thought they found some, though it was quiet clear that they didn't. There's no other active mushroom that's mistaken for being something it isn't, as the Liberty Cap. I'm almost a 100% sure, that you didn't find Ps. Semilanceata and without pics you'll never even know what you've found...

Yeah but I get brown bell caps coming up in my South facing yard. Along with some white caps, nothing active though, as far as I know.
