I was 16 in 12th grade, meaning i was 15 in 11th, 14 in 10th, 13 in 9th, and 12 in 8th.
I turned 18 right before I completed high school, I didn’t skip or fail any grades.
18-6 = 12

Ok you graduated at 17, and before you conveniently edited your post, you confidently proclaimed that you skipped a grade. So do the math.

Douglas Elementary School, Farmington Elementary School, Henry Ruff School, Lathers School, and Memorial Elementary School, which are all the elementary schools in the Garden City School District, all come up blank with any lipstick 'news story'.
Convinced now that the story is ?

Yeah, I skipped a grade while i was attending an elementary school in China. Which became irrelevant when i came to America. So i edited my post because me skipping a grade had no effect on my grade level here at all. I still had to retake the 2nd grade.
So in fact, I did the math. And i was still 12 in 8th grade.

I remember seeing this on Snopes
I couldn't find what their assessment on its validity was though.

OK, so the story might be true due to pseudo-ostension?

That article dates back 10yrs ago. And I can’t find any news article that date back to 1997 in the busted-ass website that meatcakeman provided.
It’s plausible that this was printed in a local newspaper and the original entry isn’t archived on the internet.

THIS story that the thread poster posted is FALSE, as there are tons of similar stories claiming that this happened in a myriad of different cities and states, but the core story in itself (janitor gets back at lipstick-wearing girls) could be true in that these janitors reenacted this legend after hearing about it.
