You bring up an interesting point, and one that is quite pertinent to communication on message boards such as these.

Language is only 7% words.
35% of it is intonation (the tone of your voice), and 58% is non-verbal (or body language).

On message boards like these, all we can use is words. The people you are talking to cannot hear the tone of your voice or see your body language. That is why many times, what someone says on here can be taken the wrong way.
However, we have developed many things to replace the intonation and body language that is lost when we communicate through typed words. For example:

There are other things we use while communicating through typed words that also convey intonation and body language to others who are reading what you write. It is almost like we are developing a new type of language, and it's no surprise that this is happening when you look at the fact that language is only 7% words. These things we use to help us convey intonation and body language are not only helpful, but necessary!

The point is, you are completely correct, Smack. How we say what we are saying has everything to do with how people will react to we say.

Namaste.
