I went there a few years ago to see if I could poach any of the northerners secret patches. Good fair, good people. Got some shittake spawn and traded san pedro for some other goods.
Those college folk were too smart to give me any of their patch info so i had to take my tricks and head down south to the bay. The rest is history

Nice fibs WyattB.
Congrats on the front page article of the Eureka Reporter too!

I must have come before you cause I didn't see the fibs, but the cyans were pretty cool.

A lot of species there, and I was really surprised by the turnout. 800 people or so I think I read.

My learned species of the year: Hypholoma fasciculare

I've been seeing these guys a lot this year, from the dunes to the redwood forest. They've got a cool green tint to them.

I must have missed you, too, OregonBlueGills. Lookin for the bear hat...

Headin to dunes. I think it will be quite sucessful with all this rain.
Thomas

Those are NOT Ps. cyanofibrillosa.

They appear to be the same species as grows in the Bay Area, which also continues to be misidentified as Fibs. This species does not fit the description of Ps. cyanofibrillosa microscopically, and is significantly more potent than Fibs.
We have been casually referring to them as "Cyanofriscosa" for lack of a better name.
They may be a variation of Ps. cyanescens, but this is still uncertain.

I could be wrong, but these look just like the "Cyanofriscosa" from the Bay Area.

Pretty sure Ps. cyanofibrillosa is generally smaller, and has a more consistent shape, without a wavy margin like the ones above.

Yeah, well, numerous "experts" have looked at the unidentified species from the Bay Area and said exactly that. However, faced with the microscopic evidence, they withdrew their initial IDs.
