Mycobag Mycelium Question with 2 smalls photos.
    #7647620 - 11/17/07 01:36 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Hey everyone, how's it going? this is my 1st attempt and I chose to go with the Mycobag setup. Here are two pics and would appreciate any input on it. Whether I should massage/fluff the bag or not?
The top layer is purdy prominent, I also noticed some large bulby like mycelium is this common? On the sides of the bag and near the inoculation site there is the rhizo mycelium starting to form. What should I do? go with the flow and continue to full colonization or what?

if it looks like its colonizing at many different points in the bag you can let it be. if not shake. if you want to shake even if it is colonizing at many points it may speed things up but remember their is a recover period of a day or 2 after each shake.

thx for the suggestion, after I decided to move the bag above the fridge within a day the myc formed a day later a quarter of the top, total days from moving to above the fridge about 4 or 5 with the result pictured.  I think I'll leave it be and let it run its course.
