Just wondering if this is a good idea. Thinking about doing it next time I trip. has anyone ever done this before?

Eh, I could never concentrate on the words. Especially during a peak, you will not even be able to tell which letter is which. Trust me, it is very difficult to make out a lot of basic words.

i probably wouldnt like it. I find reading incredibly difficult because i seam to forget what im reading half way thru a sentene, have trouble seeing the words or get distracted to many times.

I've done that before and I had a blast!  It was mostly a picture book, but full of comic pictures, really whacked out ones too, and it was German.
If you're going to try it out, find a comic that has minimal dialogue and heaps of art. It'd turn into a mini slide show

If you are tripping hard enough, yet still able to focus on what you read, I'm sure that if you got deep enough into it you'd start to hear the dialogue. Of course, the trick is to focus on the material and still manage to submerse yourself in the book deep enough to have audial hallucinations. Don't know, but it's worth a try.

I know that the words and characters come alive. It's great fun! Especially when the words look 3D.

I read some of a stephen king book while stoned one time and I got very into it. Doing it tripping would probably work... but I'd waite till your comming down. During the peak would probably not work at all.

I remember my first time on shrooms I was at this big outdoor festival/concert and I saw a kid writing in a journal. Knowing that I was too fucked up to read it right then, I made a mental note to come back in time and read it over his shoulder later on.

There's a great old series by Warren Ellis called "Lazarus Churchyard" which is out of print but the one trade paperback collection is still available from Amazon.com for around 12 bucks.
It's pretty funny but very intense too.
I've had good times reading comics like Bloom County and Outland... reading old Calvin and Hobbes strips is a nice nostalgic kick...

When you're tripping you won't be able to tell the difference between letters and Japanese characters. It's going to be pointless to even try to read. Letters will become pointless
