Tends to lead to bacterial infections in my experience. I wipe out the tops of my stuff if they are drippy with some diluted rubbing alcohol every few days.

Yes it can harm the mycelium, but not much, if water lands on myc it can cause it to bruise, my cakes always seem to bruise after misting, even when misting from several feet above and only very fine mist lands on them.

If its only tiny drops, u can fan out to dry the water off. I believe that a fine fine mist on them is fine but not soaking, as standing water can encourage contams.

Also, when primordia and hyphol knots form, drops of water on them could make them abort, so its possiblle that ou may get aborts from water dripping on them.

If you are getting condensation on the roof and walls of your fruiting chamber, it means that there is a temperature difference between the inside and outside allowing moisture to from on the walls because the surface is colder than the air.

I seem to experience this a bit when i move my FC into hiding and the temps drop below 68, when i keep the ambient temp of the room above 70 i hardly get any condensation.

What if water is condensing on the cakes themselves? the cakes would be the same temperature as the inside of the FC. So would that mean the RH% is too high?

Water will not condense on the cakes themselves, the cakes are the same temperature or higher than inside the Fruiting Chamber.

Condensation appears on a surface when it is colder than the air around it.

What you can get is drips falling off the top/sides and landing on the cake, like the OP.

You must increase the temp outside the FC or move it, and fan to dry off those droplets.

Yeah, shoulda thought that one out first. Not too difficult. Lowered the heater temp and increased room temp. Worked pretty well. Thanks.

Use one of those pump spay bottles to spray a fine mist of water over the coir to humidify it.

Ah, scusa, ho visto sud mediterraneo e ho pensato Spagnolo

arg my italian is bad.

Ps: If you spray the aborts and ninos, you can fan them hard so no drops of water stay on them. Then it does not cause a problem
