Def. not above 78 incubation is a pain in the ass, it's worth not dealing with. once you have many things going and aren't just fixated on one LC, the extra time it takes for incubation is just meaningless.

I'm living in cold New England, so at this season my house will not be heated to room temp all the time.
what do you mean by extra time.
how did you know I'm fixated on my 1 lc that has been going for a week. ive had it at 83 but looks like a may need to turn it down? i got it to stay +-1 degree. but ill be throwing some wbs bags in there soon, do i need to make a separate incubator for these?

I use my boiler cupboard, keeps the temp between 78-81, works pretty well.

yes computer cases are suppose to be designed with a very specific air flow, from the front and sides to the back, even opening some computer cases and running them like that can sometimes but thats more rare, cause overheating.
My possessor got so dusty over a few years that it was getting over 250 degrees F.
The air flow runs through the heat sink, and the large surface area of the heat sink with the air flow going through it and even most the time an additional fan rite on it, the air running over all that surface keeps it cool.
U need to keep a can of dust off around, and if your jars have not shown growth yet, and its been over 10 days, then it got over 103 I believe F in your case.

Well there definitely is a lot of air flow going through there.

I wouldnt think it be a great idea using a PC as an incubator. See how much dust gets sucked in there in the space of a month?? My fans are covered in the stuff need to clean it.
