Foil while PCing

Is it truly necessary to use foil while pressure cooking? Somehow, I forgot to cover my popcorn jars w/ a polyfill lid before PCing. I have yet to open up the cooker, but I am wondering if I should expect saturated grains, or soaked polyfill when I go to inoculate.

The tinfoil stops moisture getting into the jars threw the inoc holes.
So yes, u may end up with over wet grains or soaked polyfill

I would expect both. Even when using foil lids you'll get some water under the foil.

I couldn't resist the urge so I just checked, the polyfill is dry... yet the jars definitely have a small amount of standing water that they did not have prior to PCing. What's the consensus here? Toss the substrate, and start over? This is my first time doing anything outside of PF-Tek, yet I still don't know how I let this one slip by.

Thanks all for your quick responses. It's about 1/20th full of standing water in a 1/2 pint (was unable to obtain larger jars).

I've noticed a few jars DON'T have standing water, whereas the rest do would it be okay to save these jars and use them once I've prepared more grain? On second thought, I'll probably just discard the whole batch. Thanks RR.
